Willamina to become "Immigrant-free zone?"

The Willamina city council has declared an emergency hearing Thursday to consider whether the city should establish itself as an "illegal immigrant free zone.

The measure, which was put forth by councilor, Paul Delaney, who gave the following rationale for the measure:

"If they're illegal, then they could be bringing drugs over the border, and I have kids."

They could be rapists. They could be child molesters. I don't want them living in my town.

We are a country of moral values. People who are living here illegally and don't have moral values, I don't want them living in my town."

Two recent surveys by the Pew charitable trust and CalPirg, have pointed out that first generation immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than the general public at large.

As usual I notice the PC'ers

As usual I notice the PC'ers busy here with the sentence "Immigrant free zone" instead of the ACCURATE use which should be "Illegal immigrant free zone"

How about telling the truth ?

Illegal immigran free zone

ILLEGAL immigrant free zone, YES!
Key word being ILLEGAL. Legal immigrants, I am all for it!!!
They are just going to have to jump through the hoops to legal citizenship or temporary residency to be here!
We have enough desperate people already here, we do not need more! Why else would someone be here illegally if they are not desperate?
This country had to fight for it's freedom. Other countries are going to have to do the same. If they cannot fight then they should follow Ghani's approach. India is independent now!
"What price, freedom" I think someone famous said that?

So the message I am

So the message I am receiving from this is if you are not a citizen of the United States, you are not welcome here. If I were a tourist visiting Willamina and a police officer stopped me based on my appearance and asked for my papers, that would be the last time I visited Willamina. This is perpetuating the notion that Americans are intollerant and racists!

Illigal Immigration

The law that City Council member Paul Delaney was seeking already exists. Look in the mid 1990's Homeland Security.
