Blimp My Campaign

Look! Up in the sky: It’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s (not) the Ron Paul Blimp. But it could be “Your Name Here” for avoiding federal campaign finance disclosures.

Ron Paul has said it’s time to scale back his presidential campaign. There are a number of Ron-Paul-Entrepreneurs and some are feeling an economic downturn. The Ron Paul Blimp has deflated, and in debt, but apparently had some effect:

According to Politico The blimpsters were Libertarians with a plan to avoid campaign finance reporting. They hired a former Federal Election Commission Chair, a critic of campaign finance laws, to assist in developing a “sponsorship” model which could be transferred to attack ads without triggering disclosure.
